Fitness Internship - Summer and Fall 2018
The Fitness/Wellness Department is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Intern who is interested in promoting health and exercise among staff and patrons with varying exercise needs. This internship focuses on programming and administration of group fitness and personal training. Responsibilities will include marketing, programming, scheduling, risk management, training, co-teaching and running classes/special events. This internship offered as part of a degree program in exercise science or related field. The internship offers recreation benefits and a stipend.
We are most interested in candidates that have:
* Organizational skills and strong attention to details
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong administrative skills (familiarity with Microsoft Office).
* Project management abilities.
Students must be enrolled in a college/university and receiving credit to apply. Prospective students should be working toward a degree in a health related field. Course study in anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition and biomechanics is a prerequisite. Fitness testing, personal training and class instruction experience are a plus.
